Who we are

SearchMyVacation, trading as Search My Vacation, helps travellers plan, coordinate and purchase travel services. This Privacy Policy explains how Search My Vacation handles personal information when you contact us, use our website, begin a Journey Passport, receive Journey Director recommendations, review a Journey Synopsis, or work with a human Journey Designer.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to personal information that Search My Vacation receives directly from you or in connection with a travel enquiry or confirmed travel service. It is written for Release 1 of our service.

It does not describe services that Search My Vacation does not currently provide, such as customer accounts, stored payment cards or online self-service bookings.

Information we collect

We collect information that is relevant to helping you plan or arrange travel. Depending on your interaction with us, this may include:

• your name, phone number, email address and preferred way to contact you;
• information you choose to share in a Journey Passport, including who you may travel with, your preferred travel style, timing and destination interests;
• the Journey Director possibilities and Journey Synopsis prepared from those answers;
• information you provide to a human Journey Designer while discussing a proposed journey, quotation, booking, amendment or support request;
• traveller details needed to arrange confirmed services, such as names exactly as shown on travel documents and other information required by the relevant supplier or authority; and
• communications, feedback and records needed to respond to you or support our service.

Please provide only information that is relevant to your enquiry or journey. If information about another traveller is shared with us, you should make sure you are authorised to share it.

How we use information

Search My Vacation uses personal information to:

• understand your travel enquiry and prepare thoughtful Journey Director recommendations;
• prepare and discuss a Journey Synopsis, itinerary, quotation or travel service;
• coordinate with suppliers and partners when you ask us to arrange travel;
• communicate with you about your enquiry, booking, changes, support or privacy request;
• maintain accurate service, financial and compliance records where required; and
• protect the security, integrity and lawful operation of our services.

We do not treat a Journey Passport or Journey Director result as a booking, confirmed availability or a final itinerary. A human Journey Designer reviews the relevant travel details before services are confirmed.

When we share information

We share information only when it is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was provided, including with:

• travel suppliers, authorised OTA agent platforms, B2B travel suppliers and international DMC partners involved in your requested or confirmed travel services;
• professional advisers, payment or accounting providers, and service providers supporting our operations where appropriate;
• government authorities, regulators or law-enforcement bodies where disclosure is required by law; and
• another party where you have asked us to share information or have given consent.

Travel services may involve suppliers or partners outside India. Where that is necessary for an international journey, we share only the information required to arrange or support that journey.

We do not sell personal information.

Journey Passport and Journey Director

The Journey Passport is a voluntary conversation designed to help Search My Vacation understand the kind of journey you are seeking. The Journey Director uses the answers you provide to prepare advisory possibilities. A Journey Synopsis may bring together those answers and possibilities for discussion with a human Journey Designer.

These tools support planning. They do not independently make a booking, guarantee availability, confirm a price or replace the judgement of a human Journey Designer. If you choose to continue, the relevant details are used to support the manual planning and handoff process.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose described in this policy, to manage an enquiry or confirmed travel service, to meet legal or accounting obligations, or to resolve a concern or dispute.

Temporary Journey Passport progress may be kept only within your browser session. If you ask us to progress your enquiry, the information you share with us may be retained in our business records for the period reasonably necessary for that purpose.

Your choices and privacy requests

You may ask Search My Vacation to explain the personal information we hold about you, correct information that is inaccurate, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, or ask us to delete information where applicable law allows.

To make a request, email bookings@searchmyvacation.com with the subject line **Privacy Request**. Please include enough information for us to identify the relevant enquiry safely. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Some information may need to be retained where required by law, for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or to honour a confirmed travel-service obligation.

Security

Search My Vacation uses reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please take care when sharing sensitive information and contact us promptly if you believe your information has been misused.

Children

Travel may involve children, and we may need limited information about them when arranging a family journey. We ask the parent or legal guardian to provide that information and to contact us if they have a privacy question about a child’s information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices, legal obligations or services change. The current version will show its effective date and last-updated date. Material changes will be communicated in an appropriate way before they take effect where required.
